Indian spices, with their rich heritage and centuries of tradition, have shaped global cuisines and family recipes alike, while Australian native ingredients, treasured for tens of thousands of years, reflect the deep history and wisdom of First Nations peoples.
Think the warmth of cardamom paired with the zesty burst of finger lime or the nutty richness of wattleseed infused with saffron, this is where two incredible food cultures collide. From spiced lemon myrtle cookies to jaggery cheesecakes with a spicy twist, every dessert at Another Whisk is a playful take on traditions. Flavours in the making
My journey with baking and desserts began as a child, experimenting in the kitchen and falling in love with the process of creating something sweet and magical. Over time, I found inspiration in the diverse flavours of Indian cuisine, which eventually expanded to a global perspective as I traveled and explored different cultures. During the pandemic, I started my Instagram page to share my creations and recipes, and it became an incredible way to connect with people. Seeing others try my recipes and share their stories brought me immense joy and motivation. Moving to Australia was a pivotal moment, as I immersed myself in Australian cuisine, expanded my network and discovered the incredible flavours of native ingredients, which now play a big role in my creations.
I had the honour of being a contestant on The Great Australian Bake Off Season 8, an experience that pushed my creativity, deepened my love for storytelling through food, and connected me with an extraordinary community of bakers. It was a celebration of flavour, culture, and identity, and marked a turning point in transforming my passion into something bigger.
Today, I feel privileged, satisfied, and ecstatic to share this journey with others, one flavour-packed bite at a time.
